The Elaine Bain Family Trust is a charity working with schools and other organisations to support the young people of Rochdale in the UK and Loule on the Algarve, Portugal.
The Elaine Bain Family Trust (EBFT) was founded as Albany Childrens Trust (ACT) in 2012 by Keith Courtney, Elaine Bain and Lynne O’Reilly. ACT was renamed in memory of Elaine who sadly passed away in 2020. As a founder and active participant this was fitting. In addition, her interest in the arts, photography and media has been retained and embedded into the programme which continues to provide a safe haven of joy, care and support for young people across the Borough of Rochdale in the UK and Loule, in the Algarve, Portugal.
Our Objective...To help young people from the Rochdale Metropolitan Borough, neighbouring areas and the Algarve, Portugal, to develop their capabilities, raise aspirations and support them in the achievement of academic and social ambitions, especially but not exclusively through leisure time activities, so as to support them in growing to full maturity as individuals and members of society.
Working with likeminded organisations is very important in the work we do. Having values which interlink is a fundamental to developing long term, sustainable relationships.

The Elaine Bain Family Trust (EBFT) was founded as Albany Children’s Trust (ACT) in 2012 by Keith Courtney, Elaine Bain and Lynne O’Reilly.
When Elaine passed away in March 2020, everyone involved with ACT wished for the name to change to the Elaine Bain Family Trust (EBFT). We will endeavour to continue the success of EBFT, in her honour, both in the UK and Portugal.
Why not drop us a message – our team would be happy to help with any enquiries about any aspects of the EBFT.
