James Fairhurst, Head of contracts at Archbolds Logistics Ltd said ‘Not everyday you see the Mayor of Rochdale getting flying lessons! An interesting afternoon yesterday supporting our customer Albany Products Ltd with the open house event for their charity, EBFT – Elaine Bain Family Trust. A great cause supporting young children in the North West, providing real support to the local community’.

Technology showcase

In January we reported that in 2024, EBFT will be investing significantly in technology that will allow it to broaden the scope of activity it is able to offer children participating in its programmes.

Less than six months on and following significant work on the building and setting up the technology, its here!

This is the winning image by Alan Maher from Archbold Logistics Ltd from the photography challenge at our Elaine Bain Family Trust (EBFT) open house event earlier this week. In addition to exploring the facilities and enjoying the hospitality, Interactive activities were on offer which covered the whole STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) agenda through real time & VR immersive experiences and participation was excellent across all guests and visitors.

Steven Downham-Clarke from EBFT said ‘Our thanks to all supporters of the event and we look forward to continued partnerships and working with new partners in the near future. In addition to the provision of our ‘home from home’ and caring environment facilitating the space for personal development for those in need, the recent investment and changes mean we can also offer skills development opportunities focused on the local economy and future opportunities that’s will also support learning in school, consideration of future prospects and positive futures. In addition to the works and investment, over the last five months we have been working closely with RMBC and several local schools. Young people from six new school partners will enjoy taster sessions in mid July as part of their transition to access EBFT from September ‘.

Mark Paddock from Focus XR said ‘EBFT are doing some amazing work with young people in and around the Rochdale area. Focus XR are very proud to be a supporting partner to provide Extended Reality Work Experiences, helping young people prepare for their career pathways.
