Lots going on at EBFT and getting some Miles in!

In the UK our young people have been taking part in swimming sessions, familiarising with our tech, reportage photography linked to our chosen long term project for this year, the 2024/25 Year Book, Skiing & Snowboarding at the Chill Factore and Cooking recipes from around the world (Italy, USA, Mexico & Spain… more culinary travels later in the year to follow).

We’ll be touching base again with these activities and our build upto Christmas at the end of this term before the Festive Holidays but keep an eye on our socials until then.

Colleagues in Portugal launched our new website just as groups returned following the School Holidays in October / November and are busy in the Garden and new site.

Our lead Trustee and Albany Products Chairman, Keith Courtney has been out to Antigua. Mothers and young children have been supported with food and clothing and more is to be dispatched for the Festive Season. The most recent visit was to check supply channels and that the resources were getting to the right individuals. In addition, options around shelter and living spaces were being explored and assessed. Quite a contrast in standards for the locals compared to those of us lucky enough to have experienced Antigua as tourists or on Holiday as you can see below.

Closer to home and in both the UK and Portugal, @ebft have also been supporting the Fire Service (Bombeiros in Portugal, many of whom are volunteers). In the UK with some specialist wild firefighting equipment vests have been donated in recognition of Littleborough Community Fire Stations support on the first half term this year.

…and in Portugal which has been ravaged by wildfires over recent years, support with a new vehicle to replace the old one being used up until this year – see ‘old & new’ in the left hand image and main image which includes the mayor, deputy mayor, commander of the station and Keith.

Our partnership, support and work with the Fire Service in each country works brilliantly both ways as they support us with activities and contact for our young people.

We’ll be back just before Christmas as the first term of the year is completed.
