Start of year blog

At the end of the last academic year, work experience students supported our delivery having fantastic few weeks working with our team and gaining valuable skills and experience.

This was followed by a busy summer of planning, bookings, recruiting, learning and training focussed on the start of the new school year, we are up and running and back looking forward to a great year.

Young people from Cardinal Langley, Middleton Technology & St Cuthberts have returned and this year have been joined by Holy Family, St Annes, Hollingworth High, Newhouse Academy & Matthew Moss. We look forward to Falinge joining us following October half term.

We have welcomed new colleagues who are supporting delivery and will enhance our provision. Our first block of activity will rotate in just over a weeks time when groups will move facilities and change from Photography & Tech to First Aid & Horticulture. Several new photography projects have been introduced, our VR and simulation resources are being used, enjoyed and will continue to be developed and the essential first aid has seen fantastic engagement … providing potentially lifesaving knowledge and skills!

Our groups have started their away day experiences, the first being with Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service who will be working with all 10 groups as part of their programme. We are Timelining the schedule on social media and hopefully you will have seen some of the posts … perhaps even given us a like!?
